Director of Manufacturing

The Director of Manufacturing will oversee the day-to-day operations of all of the EZ Liner manufacturing facilities.  They will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities (processes) that result in equipment, parts, components, and contracted goods being manufactured and assembled.  These duties will involve several areas including, but not limited to the following:

  • Working with Planning and Scheduling Management to plan and determine optimal utilization of manufacturing personnel and equipment to meet manufacturing goals and customer committed deliveries
  • Ensure all areas of production are staying on schedule, flowing smoothly and on budget
  • Coordinate manufacturing with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Engineering, Shipping/Logistics and other departments, as well as with vendors and shippers
  • Help ensure that customer, statutory, standards, and internal requirements are met or exceeded
  • Hire, train, and evaluate manufacturing employees; working with production leadership monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements
  • Develop, implement, and manage Continuous Improvement initiatives or programs, such as, LEAN, QRM, ISO or similar manufacturing programs
  • Ability to lead a diverse team of manufacturing personnel
  • Responsible for managing and ensuring all personnel are following all corporate safety expectations
  • Support the ERP system processes that support the production
  • Support in staging WO’s and material for the production floor
  • Technical support troubleshooting issues on the production floor.  Identify, recognize and problem solve.
  • Responsible for accessing and communicating highest priorities to the team daily
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment, tools, and materials
  • Determine if new manufacturing equipment, methods or systems are needed
  • Supervision and hands-on team lead for new equipment production projects and staff
  • Involved in hands-on assembly work, making recommendations for engineering improvements to assemblies to increase product quality, reduce maintenance, and repairs
  • Provides necessary support to all team members as needed
  • Oversee and participate in the quality processes in place, seek improvements to the process, and advance the development of quality programs and standards within manufacturing

Core Competencies:

  • A bachelor’s degree (e.g., business administration, industrial engineering, or related) or equivalent combination of experience and training is required
  • 5+ yrs of experience in a manufacturing environment, three with plant/departmental leadership are vital
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills are required
  • Project management experience
  • Exposure/experience to one-piece flow
  • Strong written and oral communication 
  • Well-developed leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Formal and informal coaching abilities
  • Capable of fostering teamwork

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • 2+ years of supervisory/management experience in manufacturing or related field
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams, Zoom
  • Willingness to learn required ERP systems related to job function 
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication preferred
